Vesi ei riitä

Jos harjoittelet kovaa ja tarvitset juotavaa, luonnollinen reaktio on suunnata kohti vesipulloa. Mutta vaikka vesi viekin janon, se ei ole aina paras vaihtoehto kehon nesteytykseen kuntoilun aikana tai sen jälkeen. Tässä syy:

  • Vesi ei sisällä riittävästi kivennäisaineita ja hiilihydraatteja.4,7,9,10-16, 19-20, 26
  • Vesi sammuttaa janoreseptorit ennenaikaisesti – ennen kuin olet palauttanut kehosi hikoilun kautta menettämän nesteen.1,3,9,12,20,21
  • Vesi ei maistu millekään.1-3,21,25
  • Vesi ei paranna suorituskykyä kuten urheilujuomat.5,6,8,12-16,20-25

Urheilujuomilla on etunaan natrium, joka tehostaa nesteen imeytymistä elimistöön, sekä hiilihydraatit, jotka auttavat lihasten tarvitsemien polttoainevarastojen palautumisessa.

Urheilujuomien tarjoituksena on nimenomaan palauttaa elimistöösi sekä kivennäisaineet että energia, sillä niitä tarvitaan parhaan henkisen ja fyysisen suorituskyvyn ylläpitämiseen.
